So, finally I am posting my scarf that I made my girlfriend. She finally got to go home, and a few days later she took these WONDERFUL pictures!!!  I made this scarf with a bunch of scrap yarns and a few I bought to go with the color scheme. it took me a little less than 2 week  to make it, as I do not knit every day for very long.

So, here is my sweater vest that i stopped working on for a bit because of the crooked stripe. It is the Peter Easy Sweater Vest pattern by Berroco.

After I finished my GF's skirt, i got home, and she came out to visit for a while. I honestly haven't been knitting much this last month or so, but did make her this simple top that was ALSO in "Pretty in Punk" called "Master and Servant".  It's a camisole with some dropped stitches and bra straps. I made it in gray. instead of using the suggested Rowan Cashsoft Aran, i cheated and just used some of my Lion Brand CottonEase that i had.  i figured it would make it a little more durable and give it a bit more support.

So my next project was a scarf i made for my girlfriend when she was gone for a while. I think i gave it to her in ebruary, a few weeks before valentine's day. I don't know, maybe i'm wrong. I get the dates mixed up. Anyway, i had it for her when she got back into town so she had a nice present waiting for her.  I dont have the pictures of it yet, but i will put them up when she sends me them. It was really simple. And, i just used a few colors of yarn i already had, and bought a few more. I thought since my scarf was so bulky and big, i oughta make one a little more petite and softer for her, so i went down a few needle sizes, bought a few softer acrylic yarns and mixed it up with some of the yarns i had from my first scarf. I know she likes purple and colors of that compliment, so that helped me pick out the other colors. BTW, she loved it!  I'll post the pictures in a couple of weeks when she gets home to Toronto and sends them to me.

So, here was my next project.  My second project was a bit more involved..... i spoke to my girlfriend about how a few years back i ALMOST bought a Batz Maru messenger bag from Sanrio Surprise, but passed it up. I actually went back a week later to buy it an it was out of stock......apparently forever.  So, ever since then i always wanted a Batz Maru messenger bag, and regretted passing up the purchase.  She suggested for us to look for a pattern and she would help me modify it to have Batz on it somewhere.  She had just bought me the "Son of  Stitch and Bitch"  Stoller book and i really liked the "DJ Bag" pattern, but wasn't at all into the cassette intarsia on the flap, so we devised a plan.  All i did was look for a picture online of Batz, blow it up to the proper size, and she ever-so-patiently graphed out the intarsia for me. Appropriately, i changed the color to black, and "voila" !!!  This was also a felted bag, so it was made out of wool and you have to "felt" the bag after you get done knitting it. That was an interesting added bonus for my second project as a beginning knitter. I knitted this bag in december of last year while her sister was visiting us down in los angeles, and both of them donated a good few rows to my project.  So, it technically was made by me, sara and emily. Here it is:

So here's the deal. This is my first entry on the ever so archaic live journal. Archaic, yet so very useful!! And even though i've never ever dinked around on it until now, i'm excited!! Actually, my girlfriend has shown me many of her postings in the past, and also her knitting blog. So, since she has blogged about many of her knitting experiences, i thought i would do the same.

I have been knitting since last november when i knitted my first scarf. It's really funny because my girlfriend told me that it would look wonkey the first half, and it would come together the second half as i got better and fell into a rhythm. That's exactly what happened. Check it out:
